I'm going to try out this whole blog-post-writing-articles thing and see how it goes. I will talk about massage, fitness and exercises, health and wellness and different types of self care that you can do for yourself when you are not at the gym or getting a massage.
I will do my best to provide as much value as I can in these blog posts and write in the clearest most engaging way possible, though I am a amateur writer at best. Its all about repetition baby!
I'll formally introduce myself. My name is Alex Stampfl, I was born in 1992 and I have been a licensed massage therapist, LMT, for five years now. I graduated from Cortiva Institute of Massage Therapy in May of 2014. I worked three jobs before working for myself.
I worked for at a gym for 3 months (I tend to not last very long working in gyms for some reason), I worked at a small spa for almost one year. It was a low pay job, but I really enjoyed my co workers and my boss was pretty cool too. It was in this job that I gained most of my confidence as a massage therapist. I was working on six people a day, five to six days a week. So its fair to say I definitely got some hands on experience. And my last job, I worked for a chiropractor. I got paid even less at this job than the spa. I worked for him for about eight months and then quit.
He then convinced me to stick with massage and rent out a room from him, so I took his advice and Alex Stampfl Massage and Bodywork was created in April of 2016. I had pretty good experience as a LMT by then, but was still a little nervous working for myself. But by now, I have worked on over 5,000 people (probably even more than that).
I'm now at a new office space in a residential building that I've been in since June of 2017. Its a nice little space, it throws people off at first that I work out of a residential building. But then they see that it't not some sketchy apartment and its a nice professional office space and they like it.
It't been three years of having the business as of April this year (2019). I'm truly blessed to have this business and all the wonderful return clients that come see me regularly.
I hope to keep improving my service and in turn continue to improve and change the lives of all the people who come to me. Life is truly a journey. Life is what you make it, it can boring or it can exciting. It's really all up to you. You are the artist and your life is the canvas. Life is truly a gift.
Complaining and negativity will only hurt your mind, body and soul. But being grateful for waking up every morning, practicing gratitude every morning, looking up at the blue sky, the green trees and the bright yellow sun, feeling the cool breeze against your face...and soaking it all in...will nourish your soul and make you feel joy in your heart. I try to do this every day.
For the way to be happy...is simply to choose to be happy. You can and should always be trying to improve your life situation and the lives of others. At the same time, you should be grateful for all that you have and live in the present moment, not in the past and not in the future. For the present moment is all we have.
